Named after the late Executive Director of the Milwaukee Urban League, Dr. Wesley L. Scott was a key leader and visionary in Milwaukee during the tumultuous civil rights movement in the 60s, helping to open doors of opportunity for African Americans during one of the City’s most volatile periods.
The Dr. Wesley L Scott Senior Living Community is following the spirit of Dr. Scott by bringing significant investment into a challenged neighborhood to catalyze further development and revitalization.
Gorman & Company, in partnership with the Milwaukee Urban League, redeveloped a historic college and late home of the Milwaukee Urban League into senior apartment homes in the Metcalfe Park Neighborhood. The Dr. Wesley L. Scott Senior Living couples historic renovation with new construction to provide an amenity-rich community that provides 80 senior apartments of which 74 target households below 60 percent of area median income.
Dr. Wesley L. Scott Senior Living Community provides area seniors age 55 and better an affordable home and also gives former area residents the opportunity to return and participate in the revitalization of their former neighborhood. Dr. Wesley L. Scott Senior Living Community provides unique and first rate independent homes for seniors by:
